HUMMER H3X SUV
The Hummer H3X is one of the models that sits comfortably in the H3 line. It’s considered the upper scale version of the H3. As the manufacturer tried to maintain that traditional boxy militant look but make the H3 models more user friendly, the size of the Hummer H3X is smaller when compared to the H2.

As a functional vehicle it still doesn’t quite fit nicely into the urban lifestyle, although it is definitely more comfortable as a city dweller than the predecessor lines. The Hummer H3X gets on 14 city miles to the gallon and about 18 highway miles to the gallon, making it one of the least fuel efficient vehicles on the road. The 3.7 liter 5 cylinder engine is the same engine found in the base model. With automatic transmission standard it is set up for a nice ride with as little work as possible.

Of course, banking street corners and turns in the Hummer H3X is a bit like trying to ride a horse on a course while facing backward. There are areas of blind vision, the boxy turn style, and while the ride is actually comfortable and reasonably smooth it is not the easiest to get some responsiveness from. Parking is problematic with the Hummer H3X as it’s not quite small enough to fit into many of the common public parking areas.

With 4 wheel drive, Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite radio all standard the Hummer H3X offers the traditional electronics and creature comforts. A navigational system and DVD player are optional. The 4 wheel drive was a big selling point for those living in areas where snow is a problem throughout the winter months. Many consumers expected the Hummer H3X to be able to plow through any weather conditions without having to slow down. While many of the Hummers have faired through numerous winters without a scratch, consumers need to realize that there is no 4 wheel drive vehicle that makes you impervious to ice and other hazards when traveling too fast for conditions.

The stability control of the Hummer H3X helps to improve roadway safety. Traction control has certainly come in handy on the road just as much as it has off road. When it comes to off road performance the hang ups consumers and critics have about the Hummer H3X simply melt away. With nearly 10 inches of clearance, larger than average tires, and a body frame and build that is ready to take on the elements off road adventures are made for Hummers.

One of the positive aspects about the vehicle’s decreasing popularity is that sales began to slide while prices simultaneously dropped. This naturally developed a circle of economy as the low prices attracted the consumers that wanted to be part of the Hummer family but couldn’t or wouldn’t justify the expense. If an off road vehicle that can handle almost any off road condition is what you want then the H3X is probably going to be among your top 3 selections.
